Purpose
Stories are how we make meaning, build connection, and remember who we are. In a Teal organization, storytelling isn't just marketing—it's how we weave our individual experiences into collective identity, learn from each other, and stay connected to our deeper purpose.
Why Storytelling Matters
Connection - Stories help us know each other beyond roles and tasks
Meaning - Narratives give shape to experience
Learning - We learn through others' stories
Culture - Shared stories create shared culture
Purpose - Stories connect us to why we do what we do, reminding us that our work serves something beyond tasks and metrics
How We Practice Storytelling
Regular Storytelling Rituals
- General Assembly Stories - Each assembly begins with a personal story from a team member—a moment of learning, a challenge overcome, or an insight gained. This grounds us in our humanity before moving into business.
- Monthly Story Circles - Small group gatherings where we share experiences around themes like "a moment I felt aligned with purpose" or "a time I learned from failure."
- Welcome Stories - New members share their journey to Mira, and existing members share what brought them here, creating immediate connection.
Contributing to Publications
- Internal Stories Blog - An open platform where anyone can share reflections, learnings, project stories, or personal insights that might benefit others.
- External Publications - Team members are encouraged to write about their experiences, experiments, and learnings for external audiences—sharing our journey with the broader community.
- Case Study Documentation - After significant projects or experiments, we create narrative case studies that capture not just what happened, but how it felt, what we learned, and what surprised us.
