Principle: Those closest to the work make the decisions.

In Mira, decision-making is decentralized and autonomous. We trust members to act in the best interest of the organization, guided by our shared purpose and values rather than rigid rules.

How to make decisions:

  1. Individual decisions - For day-to-day work within your role, make decisions autonomously
  2. Advice process - For decisions with broader impact, seek advice from:
  3. Team decisions - For project-specific matters, the project team decides together
  4. General Assembly decisions - For strategic or major organizational changes, bring to the monthly GA meeting

Key principle: You don't need consensus, but you must seek advice. After consultation, the decision is yours to make.

Admitting New Members

Principle: Personal connection and merit guide membership.

The process:

  1. Nomination - An existing member nominates someone they've worked with or know well
  2. Supporter - The nominee finds a second member to support their application
  3. Introduction - The nominee attends a General Assembly meeting to introduce themselves
  4. Discussion - Members discuss the nomination (nominee not present for this part)
  5. Vote - General Assembly votes on admission (simple majority)
  6. Onboarding - New member begins onboarding with assigned buddy
